Maribel Korman is a social worker for our town office, and in just 10 months of working at Islands Hospice, she has become a valuable member of our team. She supports our palliative, transitional care, and supportive care programs, helping patients and their families navigate illnesses at various stages. As an integral member of our social worker team, she was nominated by colleagues to receive June’s Makana Pono award and directed her donation to Abundant Grace.
Abundant Grace helps members of our community, including the homeless, those in recovery, and men who are transitioning from prison, move into transitional and permanent housing with the ultimate goal of reaching long-term stability. Maribel believes strongly in its mission and serves as a volunteer with the organization.
“This organization is a tremendous help for me as a social worker,” explained Maribel. “They play an important role in our community as they have social programs that help needy families.” For example, Abundant Grace helps with food distributions and finding housing for low-income, immigrants, and marginalized individuals in Oahu.
“I believe in the mission of this organization as they encourage individuals to come as they are and become the person God has called them to be,” explained Maribel.
Congrats, Maribel! Islands Hospice is excited to see you continue to flourish in our organization. We are fortunate for the opportunity to support Abundant Grace through your designation.
